THE STORY

I am a Christian, an advocate, and a survivor. At the age of 8, I started restricting my food. For the next 22 years, I engaged in all sorts and combinations of eating disorder behavior. This led to a multitude of health issues and eventually addiction of alcohol. I saw many doctors and therapists which had zero clue on what eating disorders were all about. Once I finally came to the resolve that I did need help, and the disorder spiraled out of control, I sought out help from ED specialists and rehabilitation facilities. Sadly, I was met with email newsletter invitations, websites full of information that didn't apply to me, and a slammed door in my face, when searching for any assistance from very expensive clinics. I prayed for years for God to "kill me or transform me" because I couldn't take the hell of living in that state any longer. One night, I hit my breaking point. Death was coming, and I knew it. I went into a 24-hour anxiety attack where I pleaded and bargained with Jesus. He came through. In one day, the obsessive thoughts and behaviors ceased. But that was just the beginning of recovery. Having anorexia and bulimia for over 20 years irreversibly changed my body. I was now on the quest to navigate life without the preoccupation of behaviors. I had to figure a way to get my body to function. Since God restored my mind, I was gifted with an insatiable hunger for knowledge in anatomy, nutrition, psychology, and spirituality. I became a personal trainer after the wonderfully accepting fitness community cheered me on in my body restoration. I opened up my own training company (RX-Training) where I shared my "Connector Method" of health which included weightlifting, mobility, strategic cardio, injury prevention, and clinical massage therapies. I continue to study in areas of pharmaceuticals, endocrinology, body language, hypnosis/NLP, conflict resolution, and of course, the Bible. Currently, I serve as a patient advocate, maintain ownership of RX-Training, am an Evangelic minister in good standing, and founder of a Christian/civil mediation company called Phronesis Co. meaning "wisdom through experience". I am a member of the W.I.T.S. Certification Counsil in which I chair, while exploring more research and education that will aid in helping others. In my spare time, I dabble in art (ACMusto.com) compose music, and write. My first book on spiritual warfare is in the process of publication, with more to follow, God willing!
